Beachcomber: One Shot Whenever

Forget the horizon line – or discover a second one. All systems of Renaissance perspective are warped for good. Seeing things through a glass (darkly), we feel trapped in a spirit level. The symmetry of the foreground distracts us from the tempest in the background. VHS noise allows for an intercut of a man climbing a glacier. He is on the same axis as the opening credits — maybe he wants to climb up to the vanishing point (what a drag). Glaciers are constantly moving under their own weight, even if they seem immovable. We're already being reminded to peel off the surface.
