An invisible force twists and pulls an empty platform closer, while the rope splits the frame into a space of darkness and a space of reflections: a border, liquid regardless. Diagonal lines supposedly add energy and depth to an image; diagonal curves are as soothing as the life line or heart line on a palm (so not at all, really). Tamed like a pet, this non-human object calls on us to choose sides.
