By now, we know that whatever we see behind a glass surface is not transparent at all, but transformed by imagination or fear (or both). Two male animals bare their teeth, spitting and hissing, behind some hanging makeshift talismans. We feel safe — not least because of the blue charm, but because the eye match between a male and a female animal is interrupted by the car frame, and her gaze then turns 180 degrees. She’s not escaping the evil eye, but drawn to something new.
