Beachcomber: One Shot Whenever

0023

A zoom shot can last forever, since you can never get close enough to – or get enough of – a human face. This old magus is angry enough to keep people away, but then invites the stranger to remember, which is itself a passive-aggressive prompt to come closer. The camera, naturally, is hesitant to do anything but observe and compare, and perhaps conclude that the two men look alike; it must be the face shape, the neat cheeks, the thick mustache and the dark vegetation of the rest of his facial hair — or maybe just the temperament. A prop from the previous shot foreshadows the texture of this encounter: he'll be his mirror.
