We were quick to judge. The master (or the father, sometimes it's the same thing) turned into a bird himself. Humans need to dream of flying, birds possibly dream of landing; this cowboy maybe dreams of becoming a sailor (similar call, different vocation, better attire). The ocean of the mind is always more turbulent than the sea we saw in previous scenes.
