This is a faux Dutch tilt introducing us to this neo-biblical figure. An in-yer-face prop throw seems to work as a cue not only for recognition, but also for amusement. Too many questions about the dialogue: Why does Elias call this guy a cougar? And why is it translated into hyena? How does a metaphor for a promiscuous middle-aged woman turn into a metonymy for death and abandonment? It's a sunny day, so we can’t overthink it. We'd rather get lost in the deep waters of this shallow depth of field.
